

Howard Stoate MP
Dr Howard Stoate has been Labour MP for Dartford since 1997. Before entering parliament he was both a GP and a GP Tutor and Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners. He was also a Dartford Borough Councillor between 1990 and 1999, becoming Chair of Finance in 1995 a position he held until his election in 1997.
He is currently Parliamentary Private Secretary to Estelle Morris, Minister of State for the Arts. He was previously PPS John Denham, Minister of State at the Home Office from 2001 to 2003. He was also a Member of the House of Commons Health Select Committee between 1997 and 2001. He is Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Pharmacy Group, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Primary Care and Public Health Group, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Men’s Health Group and Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Obesity Group. He is the co-author of 'All’s Well that Starts Well – A Strategy for Children’s Health' published by The Fabian Society in 2002.
